Day 7: July 9: Groundhog Day

Today started off just like the movie, Groundhog Day: morning bike ride, mechanic arrives, etc....

Old man and the sea....

Mechanic arrives and starts taking parts from port engine and puts them in starboard engine until he can figure out which part is bad. After 2 hours, he determines that actuator valve to fuel pump needs to be replaced.

So we have Wimbledon for entertainment...

Then I decide to cruise the docks. Fishing tournament roster for this weekend.

The docks are each 130' long and there are 4. Probably around 200 slips here.

So for entertainment, I photo'd fun boat names!

Probably should have been Gig-a-BITE

Battle of power: 2 x 250 HP

2 x 350 HP

3 x 250 HP! Gotta catch those fish!

Mechanic informs us that the part we need is not in town and is being flown in and won't be here until tomorrow! On to find a Hertz rental car!
On the road to Rumson, NJ to stay with Skip & Penn Wilcox Branin
Rumson has some beautiful homes!

Rumson sea wall, but not enough to protect them from Hurricane Sandy!

"I hate this front door so much I can't even look!"
Penn and Dave pose for the camera!

Penn & Skip's "new" house
It started out as a kitchen, master bath & laundry renovation...

Views of Sandy Hook and New York harbor from the new house

Penn & Skip's "old" house

On to Seabright Beach Club for cocktails

Club after Hurricane Sandy
Plans for new club

Drinks on the club deck by the ocean

On to dinner at Copper Canyon in Atlantic Highlands
